Pua Sawicki Earns National Title – 2008 US Ultra Endurance Series Champion.

San Diego, CA- October 25, 2008 - The National Mountain Bike Oktoberfest, held at Fisher Farm Park in Davidson, North Carolina was the venue for Pua Sawicki to solidify her position as the 2008 female Ultra Endurance Series Champion. Pua rides NiteRider.

The featured event, at the Oktoberfest, was an 8-hour Endurance race. In the solo women’s class Pua found herself alone, out front for the entire race, only to do battle with the solo men and team racers. Pua was able to win by several laps and also take the fastest overall female day and night laps. Pua’s family, coming from Hawaii, was there cheering her on as for the first time they watched her compete in mountain biking. Denelle Grant (Bike Factory Racing) and Blakely Sapsford (Guy’s Racing) rounded out the top three in the women’s field.

With this victory Pua is now the 2008 female Ultra Endurance Series Champion. She won 4 of the 5 races she entered in this series. This is Pua’s 3rd National Series championship and 6th National title in her four years of professional racing.
